Bhiwandi, Maharashtra- The timeless wisdom of poet-saint Kabir will find a new voice in Bhiwandi through Anhad – The Kabir Way, unfolding within the intimate setting of Artist Salik Ansari’s Studio Loom. Presented by Kalavkaash Art Foundation, Belgaum, in collaboration with Sthaapatya Samvaad, the event promises an immersive journey into Kabir’s verses—woven with music, theatre, and spaces for quiet reflection.

This will be more than a performance; it will be an encounter with Kabir’s philosophy—a call to love, simplicity, and self-realisation, free from the boundaries of language, religion, or social formality. Rooted in the metaphor of weaving, the programme will resonate deeply in Bhiwandi, a city whose cultural and historical identity is inseparable from the craft. The Bombay Gazetteer of 1882 records 4,400 Julaha community members in the region, with 4,000 living in Bhiwandi. Today, the city’s humming powerlooms carry forward this legacy, lending Kabir’s words an added resonance in this setting.

An ensemble of artists—Arhaan, Priteesh, Sanjeevini, Srushti, Sudarshini, Hemang, Tanmay, Sanavi, Soham, Swati, and Vaibhav—will bring together diverse traditions to create a shared space between performer and listener. Their sincerity and collective energy will transform the morning into a living act of listening, contemplation, and dialogue.

Against the backdrop of the looms, the performance will echo both as a tribute to Kabir’s life as a weaver and as a reminder of the invisible spiritual threads that bind human experience.
